Overview - Badrinath Yatra
Badrinath Yatra is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Badri Narayan). In the Garhwal Himalayas, on the banks of the Alaknanda River in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, the temple stands at an altitude of approximately 3,133 meters (10,279 feet). Vaishnavites revere it as one of the 108 Divya Desams and one of the four shrines on the Char Dham Yatra.
Importance spiritually
- Badri Narayan is the meditative form of Lord Vishnu.
- In the 8th century, Adi Shankaracharya reestablished this tradition.
- The pilgrimage to Badrinath is considered highly auspicious since it aids devotees in attaining spiritual peace and salvation (Moksha).
- Traditionally, the temple is the final destination of the Char Dham Yatra.

- Drive through Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Nandprayag.
