Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila Trek is one of the most popular short Himalayan treks in Uttarakhand, offering a perfect blend of stunning mountain views, lush green meadows, dense forests, ancient temples, and breathtaking Himalayan panoramas.
The trek begins from Chopta, a beautiful hill destination in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. From Chopta, trekkers hike up to Tungnath Temple, one of the highest Shiva temples in the world, and then continue towards Chandrashila Peak, located at an altitude of approximately 4,000 meters (13,123 feet). From the summit, trekkers can enjoy breathtaking views of prominent Himalayan peaks, including Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Shivling, especially on clear-weather days.
